Tasting - Blau

Name: Blau
Variety: Mazuelo, Syrah and Garancha
Country: Monstant, Spain
Year: 2009
Price: $13.95

Vintage Cellar Review: 91 points, Wine Spectator. Cherry, pomegranate, mountain herb and smoke notes mingle in this expressive red.  There's a gentle texture, yet well-integrated tannins provide structure and bright acidity enlivens the floral finish.  Mazuelo, Syrah and Garancha.  Drink now through 2015

My Review: The nose of this wine smelled like cherry, pomegranate and spices.  When drinking this wine, these flavor profiles were increased.  The spice in the wine came out in the taste and the aftertaste.  This wine did not seem like a very heavy wine, as some can.  I enjoyed this wine, but there was a small amount of burn in the end.  I also really liked the bottle of this wine.
